While we were in the area of the Thames we stopped to see the Golden Hinde, a full-size, seaworthy reconstruction of the 16th-century galleon captained by Sir Francis Drake. The original Golden Hinde was the first English ship to circumnavigate the globe between 1577 and 1580.
