Another thing that makes Rocamadour a famous pilgrimage site is the Black Madonna of Rocamadour. The shrine has been worshipped since the 12th century and is associated with many miracles, particularly those at sea, and a bell in the chapel is said to ring spontaneously when a miracle occurs.
