Next we went to Vicars’ Close which is next to Wells Cathedral. It is considered the oldest intact residential street in Europe, with construction starting around 1348. The street features 27 Grade I listed medieval houses, originally built to house the Vicars Choral who sang in the nearby Wells Cathedral.
