The Sir George Somers Memorial, located in Somers Garden in St. George’s, Bermuda.The memorial commemorates Admiral Sir George Somers, whose ship Sea Venture was shipwrecked off the uninhabited island in 1609, leading to the first English settlement. Fun fact: Somers’ heart and entrails were reputedly buried in the park after he died in November 1610.
