The floor of the Trinity Chapel in Canterbury Cathedral which once housed the opulent shrine of Thomas Becket, the Archbishop murdered in the cathedral in 1170. The shrine was a major pilgrimage destination in medieval England until its destruction in 1538 under King Henry VIII.
