Next day we went to Portsmouth to see the Mary Rose the famous Tudor warship, Henry VIII’s flagship. It was built in 1510-11 and was known for its powerful artillery and role in the English navy before it sank in battle in 1545. Its remains were rediscovered and raised in 1982 and now reside in a 3 story museum behind glass.
