2022 France

Next day was a major highlight of the tour, a visit to theĀ Lascaux IV: International Centre for Cave Art in Montignac, France. It is a museum and a complete replica of the nearby Lascaux cave, which contains some of the most famous examples of Paleolithic art. The original Lascaux cave, discovered in 1940, is often called the “Sistine Chapel of prehistory” due to its extensive and well-preserved prehistoric paintings and engravings, dating back around 20,000 years.
